Eid 2020: When is Eid al-Fitr? How do you wish someone?

Eid is also called the “Festival of Breaking the Fast“. It is a religious holiday celebrated by Muslims worldwide that marks the end of the month-long dawn-to-sunset fasting of Ramadan. This religious Eid is the first and only day in the month of Shawwal during which Muslims are not permitted to fast.

This year Ramadan began on Thursday, April 23 and ends on Saturday, May 23.

Ramadan is the ninth month in the Islamic calendar.During this time, Muslims do not let any food or drink pass their lips during daylight hours.

Is Ramzan Id/Eid-ul-Fitar a Public Holiday?

Ramzan Id/Eid-ul-Fitar is a public holiday. It is a day off for the general population, and schools and most businesses are closed.
